He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorsie Dimple McKnight and John William McGregor; his grandparents, Mattie Mae McCann McKnight, J. L "Leonard" McKnight, Ripple "Rip" McGregor and Theron "Mae" McGregor; and his aunts and uncles, Anthony "Bobby" McGregor, Billy Shaw McGregor, T. M. McGregor, Jr., Yvonne and May McKnight Brumfield Mabry.
He is survived by: his aunts and uncles, J. L. "Jim" McKnight (Helen Helams McKnight), Melisa McGregor, Henry (Doran), Cassie McGregor, Eldridge (Paul) and Barbara McGregor (Bobby); and his close friends, John Goza and Bobby Zimmerman. He is also survived by "Nana" as she was called by her grandchildren.
