It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nelson Lamar Dawson (Liberty, Mississippi), who passed away on January 29, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Elaine Merle Womack; his parents, Luther Cleveland Dawson and Allie Bateman Dawson; and his siblings, Annie Belle Crum, Lula Dawson, Elsie Dawson, Maxine VonDrasek, Florence Byrd, Tressie McKey, Thomas Dawson, Roddis Dawson, Carlos Dawson, Lamottis Dawson, Loyd Dawson and Willis Dawson.
He is survived by: his children, Dana Rebecca Dawson and Lane Lamar Dawson; his children-in-law, Bo Capdau and Katherine Dawson; his grandchildren, Michelle Capdau, Conner Capdau (Amy Gastauer), Felicia Capdau, Andrew Dawson, Madeleine Dawson and Rebecca Dawson; his brother-in-law David Womack (Janet); and his close friend Janelle Jackson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Hope Methodist Protestant Church Cemetery, 5721 New Hope Road, Gloster , MS 39638, for cemetery maintenance.
