Irene Toney Obituary
We are sad to announce that on January 31, 2025, at the age of 83, Irene Toney of Liberty, Mississippi passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Irene farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Irene is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Major Jones Perry Sr. and Mary Juanita Metcalfe Perry; her daughter Connie Durham; her siblings, Major Perry Jr. and Mary Annie George; and her stepson Johnny Toney.
She is survived by: her husband Quinn Toney of Liberty, MS.; her children, Bonnie Price (Clayton) of Summit, MS., B. J. Nettles Jr. of Crosby, MS. and Ralph Nettles of Crosby, MS; and her stepson Murray Toney of Liberty, MS.. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Brown Funeral Home (153 S Broad St, Liberty, MS 39645). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
