He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend Willie Brown Stokes, Sr. and Roxanna Hendrix Stokes; his wife Christine Mayfield Stokes; his siblings, Willie B. Stokes Jr., Annie Wright, Bertha Stokes, Daisey Robinson, Prescott Stokes Sr. and Lawrence Stokes, Sr.; and his grandson Saicardo Stokes.

He is survived by: his sister Mable Maxwell; his sister-in-law Lillie Mae Stokes; and his children, Arnetta Smith (Terry), Naydean Rozell (Phillip), Andrewetta Montgomery, Andrew Jr. Stokes (Felicia), Cassell Stokes (Alice), Manuel Stokes (Corliss), Stephanie Desiderio (Michael) and David Stokes (Toscha). He is also survived by relatives and friends.
