We are sad to announce that on August 24, 2023, at the age of 89, Frances Gower Read of Leland, Mississippi passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband John Read, Sr.; her parents, Lib, Sr. Gower and Golden Gower; and her siblings, Lib Gower, Jr. and Annette Brackeen.
She is survived by: her children, Joy Henderson (Charles) and John Read, Jr. (Marilyn); her granddaughters, Meredith Turner (Richard) and Elizabeth Whites (Caleb); her great grandchildren, Eli Turner, Bonnie Mae Turner, Anne-Read Whites and Kate Whites; and her sister Mildred Zeigler (Biggie).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Leland Building Fund, First Baptist Church Leland Operation Christmas Child Fund, or Mississippi Baptist Children's Village.
