It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Byrdie May Higdon Verner of Leland, Mississippi, born in Tulare, California, who passed away on November 21, 2020, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Newton Higdon and Lelia Guy Higdon; her husband Clarence DeWitt Verner Jr.; her siblings, Billy Higdon, Evelyn Burrow and Joey Morrison; and her grandson Keith Lloyd Verner.
She is survived by: her children, David Lee Verner of Leland, Michael Dee Verner (Judy) of Carriere, MS and Tanna Lee Verner Carder (Tom) of Lake Village, AR; her grandchildren, Steven Verner (Becky), Grayson V. Binotti (Steven), Ginger Morgan (David), Alan Thomas, Evan Thomas (Jordan), Nicole Verner, Nicholas Verner (Cassandra) and Emily Palmertree (Kris); her stepgranddaughter Amanda Azlin (Ralph); and her friend Barbara Johnson. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of Leland, Building fund.
