He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret Smith; his parents, LaRoy Smith and Gertrude Smith; his siblings, Botsy R. Smith, Jackie Jones and L. R. Smith, Jr.; and his great grandchild Madison Rose Courtney.
He is survived by: his children, Ronnie Smith, Sissy Avera (Gary) and Jennifer McLendon-Riddle (Steve). He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Gideons for the purchase of Bibles.
