He is survived by: his wife Meisha Byrd Strickland; his children, Amanda Reed (Roger) and Shay Strickland; his grandchildren, Heaven Beckler (Jeffery) and Raven Shields; his great grandchildren, Aiden Beckler and Elijah Lee Shields; and his siblings, Vongie Fountain (Mike) and Ernestine Moore. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
