It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jean Strait Parker of Lawrence, Mississippi, who passed away on April 2, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Jean Strait Parker to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Heisler and Marion Heisler of Springport, MI; the father of her children L. C. Strait; her husband Cecil Parker; her stepchild Mickey Parker; and her brothers, Darwin Heisler (Margaret), Lewis Heisler (Polly), Minard Heisler (Vivian), David Heisler (Wilhemenia) and Phillip Heisler.
She is survived by: her children, Delia Harwell (Lesley) of Collinsville, Mark Strait (Shawn) of Hickory and DeLaine Sanford of Lawrence; her grandson Austin Bonds (Erin) of Lawrence; her great grandchildren, Emma, Chloe and Remi; her grandchildren, Audrey Bonds of Columbia, TN, Cody Strait (Cassie) of Enterprise, Cayley Strait of San Francisco, CA, Katie Collins (Hunter) of Mobile, AL and Bo Sanford of Pearl, MS; and her stepchildren, Carol Nelson (Benny), Frances Haralson (Eldon), Danny Parker (Sherry), Janice Valentine (Billy), Pam Ferguson and David Parker (Andrea). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the Newton County Funeral Home - South Chapel (100 Old Hwy 15 Loop, Newton, MS 39345). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at the Pine Ridge Cemetery (457 Pine Ridge Rd, Lawrence, MS 39336).
