He was predeceased by: his grandmother Lee Prescott Smith; his parent Leonard; his brother Mitchell Ray Smith (Susan); his niece Carol Lynn Draughn; his brother-in-law Jerry H. Thurman, Sr.; and also Lee Smith.
He is survived by: his sisters, Florence Thurman, Joan Holifield (Glenn) of Laurel and Janice Stuart (Paul) of Hattiesburg, Mississippi.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, one great-great niece, and two great-great nephews.
