He was predeceased by: his parents, David Palmer Murphy and Louise Cooley Murphy; and his siblings, Leonard Murphy, Perry Murphy, Dale Murphy Smith, Reba Murphy Maskew and Linda Ann Graham.
He is survived by: his children, Jeff Murphy and Krystal Murphy Wise; his sister Nona Fant; his grandchildren, Dalton Wise, Allison Wise Brown, Traice Murphy and Dreelon Murphy; and his great grandchildren, Baylor Wise, Breelyn Wise, Jase Murphy and Nash Murphy.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM and at 1:00 PM at the Memory Chapel Funeral Home (3100 Audubon Dr, Laurel, MS 39440). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
