She was predeceased by: her parents, William Wesley and Audrey McIntosh Simpson; her husband William Haskel Smith; her daughter Patricia Jan "Patti" Smith; and her friend Betty Chapman of Memphis, Tenn..
She is survived by: her daughter Peggie Smith Gilbert; her son-in-law Jeff Gilbert of Rio Rancho, N. M.; her grandson Kline Gilbert; her brother Wesley Simpson (Iram Simpson) of Laurel; and her friend Beverly Ann Abernathy of Laurel. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and three adopted dogs.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests that memorials in Margie's name be made to Happy Healthy Pet Adoption, P.O. Box 825 Bay Springs, MS 39422.
