It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Johnny Wayne Watkins of Laurel, Mississippi, who passed away on January 30, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Singleton Montgomery Watkins and Bessie Rawls Watkins; and his sisters, Joyce Smith, Marita Waldrup and Mary Nell Dennis.
He is survived by: his wife Elaine W. Watkins; his children, Angie Watkins, Chris Watkins, Billy Watkins (Selesa), Susan Ainsworth (Thomas) and Sherry Bynum (Kenneth); and his siblings, Steve Watkins, Jean Jones and Dorothy Taylor. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Springhill Baptist Church (548 Springhill Rd, Laurel, MS 39443). A graveside service was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Springhill Cemetery (548 Springhill Rd, Laurel, MS 39443).
