Joe Carl Smith Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joe Carl Smith of Laurel, Mississippi, who passed away on February 11, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Coy Smith and Dorothy Almeda Blakeney Smith; his brother Dale Smith; his daughter Angela Elaine Smith; and his grandson Logan Braydon Walters.
He is survived by: his children, Dawayne Smith, Clint Smith (Stephanie) and Amy Walters (Bryan); his grandchildren, Chase Smith (Katie), Hunter Smith (Keri), Savannah Smith, Leah Smith and Anna Cate Walters; his great grandchildren, Liam Braydon and Colin Isaiah Smith; and his siblings, Garland Smith, Elaine Hankins, Jane Polk and Frances Hodge. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday, February 16th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Freedom Baptist Church (971 Freedom Rd, Laurel, MS 39443).
