He is survived by: his wife Tina McLain Thornton; his children, Alvin Leon Thornton, Jessie Evans Thornton (Tywana) and Janet Lafaye Cole; his grandchildren, Andre Thornton (Aletha), Jacob Thornton, Courtney Thornton, Justin Thornton, Danielle Thornton, Zachary Thornton, Cody Cole, Jacob Tyler Thornton and Tara Cole; and his brothers, John Thornton (Kathy) and Jack Thornton. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
