He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Holifield Easterling; his parents, Johnnie Curtis and Edith Walters Easterling; and his sisters, Jeraldine Pryor, Jan Mitchell and Sherry Davis.

He is survived by: his sons, James Benjamin Easterling (Brandi), Eric Edward Easterling and Blaine Hoffman (Kera); and his grandchildren, James Bryce Easterling (Lexi) and Lilah Hoffman.
