With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Charles Daniel Rustin of Laurel, Mississippi, who passed away on December 31, 2024 at the age of 66. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Adron "Tater" Rustin and Dorothy Faye "Dot" Byrd Rustin; his brother Dennis Randall Rustin; and his brother-in-law David Mattos, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Teresa Hannah Rustin; his sister Annie Ruth Mattos; his nieces, Karen Langley (Mike), Tracy Ulmer and Angela Strickland; his nephew David Mattos, Jr.; his great-niece Dory Buchanan (Tyler); his great-nephews, Casey Ulmer (Sabrina), Zach Strickland, Gabe Langley, Charlee Strickland (Hannah) and Justin Ulmer (Abby); his siblings-in-law, Tommy Hannah, Ronnie Hannah, Donna Colvin, Wanda Stroud, Elizabeth Sorey, Billie Henry and Connie Herrington; his close friend J. B. Sykes (Maelynn); and also Breleigh Langley. He is also survived by cousins, family, and good friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ellisville Funeral Home (1204 B Avenue, Ellisville, MS 39437). A memorial service was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Oakland Grove Baptist Church (2475 Pleasant Grove Rd, Laurel, MS 39443).
