With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Jane Ruffin of Laurel, Mississippi, who passed away on January 9, 2024 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Burlson Gwenette Ruffin; her son Bill Ruffin; her parents, Mark Therrell and Bessie Meek Therrell; and her siblings, Lamar Plummer and Mary Bishop.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Will Ruffin (Ashton), David Ruffin (Sarah), Ben Ruffin (Kaitlyn) and Russell Freeman (Michelle); her sister Margaret Boteler; and her great grandchildren, Levi Ruffin, Faith Ruffin, Ava Ruffin, Prather Ruffin, Clyde Ruffin, Rustin Freeman and Katye Freeman.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Freeman; grandchildren, Will Ruffin (Ashton), David Ruffin (Sarah), Ben Ruffin (Kaitlyn) and Russell Freeman (Michelle); sister, Margaret Boteler; great grandchildren, Levi Ruffin, Faith Ruffin, Ava Ruffin, Prather Ruffin, Clyde Ruffin, Rustin Freeman and Katye Freeman. in lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
