He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Pettigrew (Lillian Pettigrew) of Lauderdale Mississippi and Lillian; his siblings, Heasil, Thomas, Jennie, Bernice, Lucille and Rozella; his nephews, Devon Daniels, Marvin Pettigrew and Joseph Taylor; and his niece Algenia Taylor.
He is survived by: his wife Jacquelyn M. Gibson Pettigrew; his children, Dr. Chenits Pettigrew, Jr. (Margaret Larkins-Pettigrew), Ronald Thomas Pettigrew and Pamela Gibson (Kyle); his grandchildren, Victoria E. Anderson-Pettigrew, Carlos Rondell Pettigrew (Consuelo), Chenits Reese Pettigrew (Naana) and Gaetan Lorenz Pettigrew (Christopher); his great grandchildren, Daimere J. Wilmer, Jr., Corbin, Chase and Carson Pettigrew; and his nieces and nephews, Norma Shelton, Lillian Denice Booker, Candice Watkins, Devon Pettigrew and LaVaughn Booker. He is also survived by great nieces, great nephews, extended family and friends.
