He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard James Jr. and Evelyn Jackson Whitehead; his brothers, Jimmy Clyde and Paul Whitehead; and his sister-in-law Mary Beth Whitehead.
He is survived by: his siblings, Sylvia Watts (late Shelby) of Raymond, MS, John Whitehead (Janna) of Destin, FL and Terrie Shroyer (Duane) of Birmingham, AL; and his cousin Malcom Whitehead (Carolyn) of Natchez, MS.. He is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews and 15 great-nieces and great-nephews.
