With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gregory D. Gaines of Lake, Mississippi, born in Waycross, Georgia, who passed away on December 26, 2020 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by: his wife Lynne McRaney Gaines; his daughters, Michelle Gaines Taylor of San Antonio, Texas, Marcia Gaines of San Antonio, Texas and Kara Gaines of San Antonio, Texas; his grandchildren, Ryan Gaines Taylor and Anevay Pacheco-Gaines; and his brothers, Grady S. Gaines of Charleston and Glynn C. Gaines of Lexington. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lake Eddins Community Church Youth Program, 38 LE 16382, Pachuta, Mississippi, 39347.

“Is this the Greg Gaines I knew in the Air Force? I’ve searched for him on-line but thought he planned to retire in South Carolina. I remember Lynne was from Mississippi. The daughters names are what I recall. Greg was a great friend in both Little Rock, Arkansas and Vandenberg AFB, California.
