He was predeceased by: his parents, James Armos Alexander and Ila Mae Smith; his son James Robert Alexander, Sr.; his grandson Jeremy David Alexander; his siblings, Juanita Russell, Bessie Burnside, Rita Melton, Walterine Goss and Curtis "Buddy" Alexander; and his son-in-law Byron Lowery.
He is survived by: his wife Shawna Askin Alexander of Morton, MS; his children, Billy Wayne Alexander, Jr. (Tina) of Graham, TX, Joel Alexander (Kelly) of Flowood, MS and Lee Harrison Lowery of Lake, MS; and his brother Lonnie Alexander of Decatur, MS. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
