He was predeceased by: his parent Ola Kate Seaborn Creel; his wife Jean Creel; his parent Johnnie David Creel; and his sister Kathleen Whatley. He is survived by: his daughters, Jan Holmes (Mike) of Gardendale, Joy Creel of Saltillo, Jeri Carter (Geoff) of Tupelo and Jodee Newell (Kerry) of Canton, Georgia; his grandchildren, Reagan Raygan (Carson), Zachary Holmes, Jonathan Weaver (Kaylen), Austin Weaver (Zach Johnson), Brooks Weaver, Bremen Carter, Bailey, Taylor and Grayson Newell; and his great grandchild Teddy Weaver.
