He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Cade and Margaret Mathis Cade; his former wife Earline McNeer Cade; and his siblings, Farron Weeks and James Evans "Knotty" Cade.

He is survived by: his wife Sue Ballard Cade; his children, Deborah Lea (Robert), Charlotte Greenlee (Ricky), Chanda Ferguson (Doug) and William Cade, Jr. (Patsy); his grandchildren, Aletha Merwin, Jamie Bennett, William "Tripp" Cade III, Lauren Cummings, Lucy Cade Ferguson, Will Ferguson, Ella Ferguson, Beth Sanders and Robin Lea; and his great grandchildren, Caden Bennett, Amelia Sharpe, Blakely Wright, Callie Sanders and Ava Duett.
