He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Arthur Battles and Oneida Bernice Long Battles; and his wife Jewette Battles. He is survived by: his sons, Russell Battles (Tamara) of Olive Branch and Leslie Battles (Cheryl) of Texas; and his grandchildren, Joshua Battles, Dr. Meagan Parsons, James Battles, Justin Battles, Caitlin Stubbs, Josh Battles, Jay Battles, Dylan Battles, Anthony Stubbs and William Parsons. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
