He was predeceased by: his parents, John Paul and Josie Fowler Westbrook; his son William Douglas Westbrook; his grandson Wesley Westbrook; and his sister Ozella W. Davis.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Winstead Westbrook; his sons, John Westbrook III and Walter Westbrook (Alice); his siblings, Hillary Westbrook, Betty Ann Smith and Lillian Perrye Westbrook Waters; his grandchildren, Glen Westbrook (Mandy), Abby Taliaferro (Brody), Kari Casey (Austin), Makenzie Westbrook and Shasta Dodd (Nick); and his great grandchildren, Bentley, Cade, Analise, Katie Grace, Beckham, Hughes, Ella Rose and Sawyer.
