He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie Young Owens and Alada Harris Owens; and his granddaughter Anna Owens. He is survived by: his wife Harriett Sorrells Owens; his children, James Earl "Bo" Owens, Jr. (Delia) of Madison, MS, Carrie Sims (Jeff) of Kosciusko, MS and Stephanie Morgan (Hamer) of Clinton, MS; his grandchildren, Madison Hurdle (Justin), Austin Sims (Katherine), Alexandria Owens, Benjamin Owens, Sidney Owens, Kate Morgan and Quin Morgan; and his great grandchildren, Maely and Maddie Hurdle.
