She was predeceased by: her father James H. Middlebrook; her husband Edgar Wiley Carter, Jr.; and her parent Epha Barton Middlebrook (Barton). She is survived by: her children, Edgar W. Carter, Wesley Brooks Carter and Laura Zoe Carter Forbes (Kevin); her siblings, Ralph Middlebrook (Paula), James H. Middlebrook, Jr. (Linda), Ronny Middlebrook (Nancy) and Denice Nollner (Bob); and her sister-in-law Hope C. Ellis. She is also survived by four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
