He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerry Dale Cox Sr. and Elizabeth Ann Cox; his nephew Jerry Dale Cox III; and his mother-in-law Shirley Blansett. He is survived by: his wife Jennifer Cox; his children, Justin Cox (Angelia), Kelly Cox and Jerry "Austin" Cox; his siblings, Jerry Dale Cox II, Phillip Cox (Rhonda), Amy Stogner (Randal) and Angel Cox; and his granddaughter Chelsea Cox.
