He was predeceased by: his father Captain Rufus Murphy; and his sister Kathy. He is survived by: his daughters, Keye Murphy Williams (Clay) of Charlotte, TN and Stacy Murphy Burchfield (Jay) of Hammond, LA.; his grandchildren, McKenzie, Kate Williams of Charlotte, TN, Caleb of Hammond, LA., Layne (Marissa) of Hammond, LA. and Adrian Burchfield of Hammond, LA.; his wife Naomi McDonald Murphy; and his siblings, Shirley Poe (Larry), Nancy Jackson (Everett), Danny Murphy (Betty) and Freddie Murphy (Dixie). He is also survived by six nephews, and two nieces.
