He was predeceased by: his father Paul Cecil Hackett; his brother Paul David Hackett; and his mother-in-law Linda Jan Thornhill. He is survived by: his wife Rhonda Kay Hackett; his children, Colton Hackett (Payten), Dallas Bryan (Caitlyn), Kaycee Mixon (Zack) and Ashley Hackett; his brothers, Jerry Grace, Eddie Sharp and Timmy Hackett; his grandchildren, Mylee Mixon, Charlee Mixon and Kaydence Bryan; and his nieces, Heather LeJune and Somer Garner.
