With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Billie Jean Reid of Jayess, Mississippi, who passed away on February 26, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Billie Jean departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Billie Jean may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Billie Jean leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer H. Carney and Corean Creel Carney; her husband Henry Ford Reid; and her son Steven Ford Reid. She is survived by: her children, Deborah Garner (Jeffery), Richard Reid (Lisa), Ivan Reid (Machell) and Lisa Beard (Terry); and her daughter-in-law Pat Boyd (Ronnie). She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Powells Grove Pentecostal Church (Jayess) (454 Powell Grove Rd, Jayess, MS 39641). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025.
