He was predeceased by: his parents, Emma Bell McKinney King and Louis King, Sr.; his son James Russell King, Jr.; his siblings, Sammy King and Ruth Ann Brown; and his brother-in-law Johnny Brown.
He is survived by: his wife Robin Gann King of Houston; his children, Rusty King (Tracy) of Calhoun County, Justin King (Paige) of Tupelo and Angela Carner (Eddie) of Houston; his brother Louis King, Jr. (Ruby); his grandchildren, Summer Scarbrough (Hayden) of Houston, Emma Rae King of Calhoun County and Eason Robert King of Calhoun County; his great grandchild Bentley Hayden Scarbrough; and his close friend Bommer Tabb of Houston.
Out of his deep concern for his community and the current pandemic situation with Covid, he requested that no public visitation be held.
