He was predeceased by: his parents, James D. Slayton and Shirley Ethridge. He is survived by: his wife Laura Slayton; his children, Jon Slayton (Shonda), Chris Slayton (Lindsey), Barbie Tillman and Kristi Perkins (Jerry); his siblings, Nora Truhett (Dane) and Joe Slayton (Melissa); his grandchildren, Kenleigh Slayton, Jace Slayton, Jesse Slayton, Patrick Cherwaty, Adam Mowdy, Payton Cherwaty and Lauryn Rutledge; and his nieces and nephews, Carrie Truhett, Stephen Truhett, Jamie Slayton, Jim Slayton and Natalie Slayton.
