He was predeceased by: his parents, Porter James and Eva Miller Bivens; and his sister Kay Bivens Bryan. He is survived by: his wife Martha Coleman Bivens; his children, Lynn Utsey (Joe), Lisa Morris (Mike), Beth McKee and Jim Bivens (Michelle); and his brother Hugh Miller Bivens of Albuquerque, NM. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.
