She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Willie Ethan Stewart and Beedie Stewart Smith; her sisters, Theta McLeod (Capps) and L'Eva Stewart; her brother-in-law Bill Dukes; her niece Laurie Dukes Sims; and her nephew Dr. Ben McLeod.
She is survived by: her husband James K. "Jim" Dukes, Sr.; her children, James K. Dukes, Jr., Jan Dukes and William W. "Bill" Dukes (Kim); her grandchildren, Kelly Dukes (Natalee) and Ashton Dukes; her great grandchild Karlee Batson Dukes; and her pet Dos. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews and their children.
Memorials can be made to Winters School of Music at William Carey University or the American Alzheimer's Association.
