He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Taranto and Trula Taranto; and his brothers, Arnie and David Taranto. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Taranto; his children, John Taranto Jr. (Olivia) and Monica Tooki; his grandchildren, Catherine Taranto, Daniel Taranto, Jacob Taranto, Micah Taranto, Hannah Taranto, Kai Tooki and Asia Tooki; his great grandchildren, Brook, Sean, Meredith, Izabella, Michael, Mathew, David, Myla and Finnegan; and his siblings, Sheila Borries (Ralph) and Patrick Taranto. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
