He was predeceased by: his wife Mable Garrett; his parents, Valley Will and Agnes Garrett; his son Alex Garrett; and his siblings, Mae Delores Marcum, Rita Faye Garrett, Ruby Geraldine Reid and Kenneth Garrett.
He is survived by: his sons, David Brewer (Iris) and Mitch Brewer; and his sisters, Carolyn Culpepper and Ann Breland. He is also survived by three grandchildren.
