It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Bertie Shortridge Wade of Jackson, Mississippi, born in Meridian, Mississippi, who passed away on October 22, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert Shortridge and Vivian Shortridge; her husband John; her sisters, Dollie Morris and Betty Beavers; and her son-in-law Tom Calhoun.
She is survived by: her children, Johnny (Jan), Bertie and Vivian Calhoun; her grandchildren, Lauren (Alston), Carolyne (Linley), Elizabeth (Martin), Callie (Sidney) and Taylor (Allison); her great grandchildren, Tyler, Anna, Wade, Goldie, Miller, Alli Rhodes, Emery, Conrad and Merritt; and her sister Vivian Williams. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Reformed University Fellowship or First Presbyterian Day School.
