He was predeceased by: his fathers, Forest Ray Shook and Cecil DeGraw Shook; his stepfather Lester Davis; his brother Horace Ray Shook; and his brother-in-law Jerry Hardin.

He is survived by: his children, Todd Shook (Jana), Brandt Shook (Amy), Melody Shook Senn (Billy) and Janette Morgan; his sister Shirley Shook Hardin; his grandchildren, Paisley Shook, Maze Shook, Brett Morgan (Jesika), Sara Wilmeth (Dakota) and Madison Morgan; his nephew Chad Shook; and his sister-in-law Shelby Shook. He is also survived by three great grandchildren.
