He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Benson and Amy Benson; and his siblings, James Benson, George Benson, Eugene Benson, Barbara Hamm, Peggy Winstead, Gloria Patterson and Christine Henson.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Benson; his children, James Smith (Heather), Michael Smith, Ricky Smith (Nikki) and Laura Lind (Russell); and his siblings, Jerry Ray Hanson, Walter Benson, Randy Benson, Shirley Sutton, Betty Letson, Mary Delll Riddle and Melatha Jones. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
