He is survived by: his spouses, Mary Elois Hodum Shields and Betty Sanders Shields; his sons, Michael Lane Shields (Dejay) and Clayton Lee Shields; his grandchildren, Cutis Shields and Matthew Shields; and his great grandchildren, Braxton Shields and Abigail Shields. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great nephews.
