He was predeceased by: his wife Mattie Faye Nunley Helton; his parents, Robert Lee and Estella Armstrong Helton; his grandson Charles Cook; his great grandchild Natalie Helton; and his daughter-in-law Portia Helton.
He is survived by: his sons, Roger Helton (Donna) and Lynn Helton (Kay); his sister Lola Randolph; his grandsons, Sean Helton (Anna), Jason Helton (Amanda) and Andrew Helton (Olivia); and his great grandchildren, Chance Helton, Summerlin Helton, Julianna Helton, Quinan Helton and River Cook. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
