With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dan Young of Iuka, Mississippi, who passed away on June 19, 2021 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, W. R. Young (Will) and Velma Flurry Young; his siblings, Kathryn Gould and Jack Young; and his mother-in-law Stella Gurley.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Gurley Young; his children, Lauren Young Nunley (Herman) and D. L. "Danny" Young (Debbie); his grandchildren, Danielle McDeavitt (J. D.), Claire Williams (Brooks), Mary Beth Sheffield (Kevin), Daniel Young (Anna) and John Landon Young; and his great grandchildren, Bryson Taylor, Ayden McDeavitt, Hayden Taylor, Noah Sheffield, Charli Beth Sheffield, Adalyn McDeavitt, Stella Grace Williams, Sadie Brooke Williams, Harris Young and Evelyn Kathryn Sheffield.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to LeBonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, and Palmer Home for Children in Columbus, Mississippi.
