He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Earl B. Whitehurst and Virgie Morris Whitehurst; his brother-in-law Hilton Moore; his wife Bonnie Sue McGee; his daughters, Kristi Whitehurst McGuff (Denny) of Iuka, MS, Tanya Duvall of Columbia, MO and Nancy Culbertson Cote (Phillip) of Great Falls, MT; his grandchildren, Blake McGuff, Camryn McGuff, Sarena Wilkerson and Audrey Wilkerson; his sisters, Lila Whitehurst Lindsey Daniel, Lola Whitehurst Vandiver and Linda Whitehurst Moore (Hilton); his nieces and nephews, Vickie Lindsey Winchester, Tracy Moore Hall, Sherry Moore, Alan Vandiver and Mary Beth Vandiver Smith; his friend Charles Twitty; his brothers-in-law, Lee Lindsey, Roy Daniel and Clovis "Tody" Vandiver; and also, Addisyn Anne Castle, Casen Castle and Cohen Castle.
