He was predeceased by: his parents, John Long and Aline Hartley Long; his wife Dolly Gayle Long; and his sisters, Johnnie Faye Long and Shirley Grimes.
He is survived by: his nieces, Sandra Grimes Moore (John) and Carrie Grimes; his brother-in-law Steve Grimes; and his close friend Larry Adams.
