He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Gilliland and Dinkie Gilliland. He is survived by: his sons, Tyler Gilliland (Maggie) of Greenwood and Drew Gilliland (Jennifer Feduccia) of Cleveland; his siblings, Gail Fondren of Greenwood and Eddie Gilliland of Carrollton; and his grandchildren, Emma Gilliland, Grant Gilliland of Greenwood, Ledger Feduccia of Cleveland, Swayzie Feduccia of Cleveland, Knox Feduccia of Cleveland and Hailey Sappington of Cleveland. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
