He was predeceased by: his parents, Susie Brewer Reed and Johnny Whitten Reed; and his son Clint "Buddy" Reed. He is survived by: his wife Celeste Kemp Reed; his children, Suzanne Reed Jefcoat (Milton), Johnny Brewer "Rusty" Reed, Jr. (Robin) and William Hamilton Reed (Mary Sue); his brother James Reed (Carolyn); and his grandchildren, John Justin Jefcoat (Amanda), Tommy Reed Jefcoat (Elizabeth), John Wood Reed (Natalie), Marquis Tankesly Reed (Anna), William Hamilton "Will" Reed, Jr. (Amanda), John Price Reed, Ashley Reed Roney (Michael) and Erin Reed Stowers (William). He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
