He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Ernest and Lois Carter Weems; his wife Alyce Landwirth Weems; his son William Frederick; his daughter-in-law LaNelle Weems; his children, James "Jim" Edwin Weems Jr. and Julie; his son-in-law Jay Sykes; and his sisters, Evelyn Weems Hitt and Margaret Ann Weems Sheffield. He was also cherished by four grandchildren.
