He was predeceased by: his mother Julia Ann Clower Rose; his mother-in-law Bonnie; and his grandparents, Benjamin Samuel Clower, Pauline Morgan Clower, Dr. Walter Henry Rose and Florence McNeill Rose.
He is survived by: his father Dr. Walter Henry Rose, Jr.; his wife Carol Smith Rose; his children, Dr. Walter Samuel Rose II (Lydia) and Dr. Cassey Rose Hardin (Mark); his granddaughters, Rose Cameron Hardin, Maryn Claire Hardin and Everlee Mills Hardin; his sisters, Julia Rose Hill (Allen) and Ann Rose Patridge (Bruce); and his siblings-in-law, Jerry Layne Smith and Daphne Smith Cobb. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the First United Methodist Church or Boy Scout Troop #41.
